Karen M. Kohn (kmk@motorcycleaccidentlawyer-dc.com) is a graduate of the Washington College of Law at the American University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Michigan. During law school, Ms. Kohn worked as a legal intern at the National Organization for Women, the United States Department of Justice, and for United States Representative, Major R. Owens. Following law school, Ms. Kohn worked as an associate attorney for the Law Offices of Jefferey Nadel where she represented personal injury clients. In addition, she served as a Pro Bono Attorney for The House of Ruth Domestic Violence Legal Clinic assisting individuals to leave abusive relationships. Ms. Kohn then became an associate attorney at the law firm of Jordan Coyne & Savits, L.L.P. in Washington, D.C. In 1999, she left the private sector and became Legal Counsel for the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence where she litigated negligence and product liability cases on behalf of gun violence victims and such entitites as the NAACP and the City of New Orleans. In 2003, she became an Associate General Counsel for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) in Washington, D.C. litigating cases on behalf of the governmental agency.
Ms. Kohn is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland State and Federal Bars. Ms. Kohn has also served as a Montgomery County District Court Mediator.
